Each part of the face has a different function. The two round eyes are displays
recording left side feeding information in left eye and right side in the other.
The mouth displays date and time information. To start the feeding timer for the
left breast, push the left ear button indicated by the letter "L" on the button. This automatically displays in the left eye the time the
feed started on and initiates the feeding timer which continues to run
indicating how long the feed is going for. A 1st icon will also appear in the
eye highlighting that this side was fed from 1st for this feed. Whilst a feed is
in progress the ear will light up green.
-
Once feeding has finished on the left side push the left ear button again which
stops the feeding timer. The feeding timer will display the total feeding time
on the left side and the time the feed commenced. The opposite side ear will
then light up red indicating this is the next side to feed from.
-
Once mum changes to the right side and repeats the same process from the left
side she is able to see total feeding time on both sides.
-
Additionally, a 1st and 2nd (if both sides were fed from) icon will appear in
each eye indicating order of feed. This way mum will always be able to keep
track of exactly how long baby feeds for every time and which side to start on
for the next feed. If baby only feeds from one breast for a feed and then one
hour elapses breast mate® assumes that the total feed is finished and will
highlight the other side to start on for the next feed.

-
The scroll wheel on the side acts as the menu for date, time, alarm clock,
history and reset functions. To activate the functions simply rotate the wheel,
this will display each function in the mouth and changes each time the wheel
scrolls. Once desired function is reached simply push the wheel in for 5 seconds
until beep sounds to select that function, this will initiate the information to
flash allowing changes to be made.
-
To start setting or making changes to that particular function scroll the wheel
up or down until desired information is displayed, to set push wheel again and
information will be maintained. This wheel is used to set the date, time and
alarm.
-
The scroll wheel is also used to display the history of feeds. By scrolling the
wheel until “HISTORY” displays in the mouth, simply push the wheel to select
this function. Once activated scroll the wheel up or down to display the history
of each feed and the total feeding time in each eye. Each time you scroll it
will continue to go backwards displaying past feeds in the eyes and mouth areas. To return to normal operation press
in the wheel.

-
An automatic counter is also displayed in the mouth area indicating how many
feeds have been performed in a 24 hour period. This allows mum to keep track of
the total number of feeds.
-
To clear the memory and reset the timers simply scroll wheel until you reach
“reset” function. Push the wheel button in for 5 seconds until a beep sounds.
This will clear the history and start storing information again once the
next feed commences.
-
To lock breast mate® ensuring no accidental bumps and incorrect information
recording simply hold both ears in for 5 seconds, to unlock perform the same
function.
-
The thermometer displays room temperature in the mouth area allowing mum to
dress baby according to how hot or cold baby’s nursery is. Red indicates >22˚C
and blue for <16˚C .
-
The nightlight can be used
when in cradle during the night feeds, to activate simply press the
button at the top of the head push again to turn off.
-
The docking station allows breast mate® to be secured and information to be
easily read. breast mate® will automatically charge while it is stored in the
docking station and plugged in to the ac adaptor.
